Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies (MAKAIAS), Kolkata is a Society promoted by the Federal Government. Dr P.M. Kamath is a member of the Society. He is a nominated member by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. He attended the Society Meeting held on 23 December 2019. The Honourable Governor of West Bengal, Shri Jagdeep Dhankar presided.
